INTRODUCTION TO SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND WRITING

Course Objectives The aim of this course is to introduce students to the methods used in scientific writing. With this course, students will learn:

• Structure of a scientific article
• Academic language
• Tools for scientific writing

At the end of the course, students will write a minireview article about a topic according to their interests.

Course Content: The content of this course includes the methods for arranging a scientific article starting from abstract to conclusion sections and the proper use of academic language for scientific articles. In addition, the writing tool “LaTeX” will be introduced through “Overleaf” platform. LaTeX provides a very powerful way of formatting documents. Overleaf, on the other hand, is an online LaTeX writing tool that allows users to easily create and collaborate on scientific documents.
