INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHOLINGUISTICS

13 Şubat 2024

Course Objectives: This elective course is designed to give students an introduction to psycholinguistics; the study of how we as humans acquire, process and produce language. During this course, students will develop a basic understanding of the relationship between language and the processes of the brain and mind.

Course Content: KHAS 1800 Introduction to Psycholinguistics introduces the students the key concepts and themes related to Pycholingustics. Throughout the semester, we will have a crash course into topics such as visual and auditory recognition of words, sentence comprehension and production, bilingualism (and beyond), language acquisition, and language disorders. It is ideal for students who have always wondered how humans learn languages and those who have an interest in reading and critiquing original psycholinguistics research articles.
