GLOBAL ISSUES AND THE HUMAN CONDITION

Course Objectives:

• Introduce students to key concepts and themes related to globalization
• Give an overview of debates pertaining to socioeconomic inequalities, limitations and challenges that emerge with globalization
• Outline key questions that global issues provoke
• Provide a review of processes of globalization in economic, environmentalist, cultural, political and social domains
• Improve students’ oral and written communications skills and analytical thinking

Course Content: This course aims to introduce students to key concepts and themes related to globalization and give an overview of debates pertaining to socioeconomic inequalities, limitations and challenges that emerge with globalization. Additionally, the course outlines key questions that global issues provoke and provides a review of processes of globalization in economic, environmentalist, cultural, political and social domains. The course also aims to improve students’ oral and written communications skills and analytical thinking.
