Ear Training

Course Objectives:

1. Perform, recognize, transcribe, and notate rhythms in 2/4, 3/4, and 4/4 meters accurately using conducting patterns

2. Sight-sing, perform, recognize, transcribe, and notate major-minor melodies in treble and bass clefs

3. Recognize, transcribe, and notate major-minor key tonal chord progressions

Course Content:

This course will provide a general foundation for musical study by covering music fundamentals. Sections will include emphases in pitch, rhythm, intervals, chord structure, chord progressions, melodies, harmonies, key signatures, and phrases in the standard clefs. Student will learn and interact with these concepts through reading, listening, playing and singing.
