17 July 2025

N. Buket Cengiz’s academic chapter, “From Hometown to the Home of the Armenian Patriarchate: Hagop Mıntzuri and Megerdich Margossian in Istanbul,” has been published in the edited volume Urban Discourses of Crisis, Resilience, and Resistance (Springer, 2025).

In this work, Cengiz deeply examines the relationship between urban space, cultural resilience in times of crisis, and social memory through the lens of two Armenian writers, Hagop Mıntzuri and Megerdich Margossian. N. Buket Cengiz comparatively evaluates the authors’ narratives about Istanbul, shedding light on the traces of minority literature on the city.

Urban Discourses of Crisis, Resilience, and Resistance is an interdisciplinary academic collection that addresses the socio-cultural transformation of cities in times of crisis.
