COST Action Slow Memory Project the Closing Conference

11 July 2025

Core Program faculty member Dr. Deniz Gündoğan İbrişim participated in the closing conference of the COST Action CA20105 – Slow Memory project, in which she has been actively involved for four years as the Action Management Committee member for Turkey and project grant coordinator.

At the conference hosted by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, our faculty member delivered a significant presentation titled “Multispecies Witnessing and Slow Memory” in the panel she co-organized with the project’s “Transformation of Environment” Working Group. This presentation highlighted the project’s four-year accumulation of knowledge and the intersections between environmental crises and memory studies.

The “Slow Memory” project aims to investigate the transformative practices of memory in times of uneven and accelerating change. Our faculty member’s leadership role and academic contributions in this important project successfully represent the interdisciplinary and socially responsive vision of the Kadir Has University Core Program in the international arena.
